Who We Are
Florence Baptist Church is a community of believers in Pelion, South Carolina, gathered together to worship God, grow in His Word, and share the love of Jesus Christ with our neighbors. For generations, our church has been a place where families can come to know the Lord, find genuine fellowship, and be equipped for a life of faith and service.
We are a traditional Baptist church committed to the authority of Scripture, the power of the Gospel, and the importance of faithful Bible preaching and teaching. Whether you’re new to the area, searching for a church home, or exploring faith for the first time, we’d love to welcome you.
Our Mission
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”

Our mission is to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ — sharing the Gospel, growing together in God’s Word, serving our community, and sending believers out to live faithfully for Him.
What We Believe
We stand on the truth of God’s Word. Here are the core convictions that shape everything we do.
📖 The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God — our supreme guide for faith and life.
✝️ The Gospel
We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again on the third day. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
🙏 Salvation
We believe that all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory. Eternal life is a free gift received by turning from sin and trusting in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
💧 Baptism
We practice believer’s baptism by immersion — a public profession of faith in Christ, following His command and example.
👥 The Church
We believe the church is the body of Christ, called together for worship, fellowship, discipleship, service, and the sharing of the Gospel.
🕊 The Christian Life
We believe Christians are called to grow in Christlikeness, walk in the Spirit, pray, study God’s Word, and live lives that honor Him.
